Supply Chain: E-commerce Packaging
Silicone Release Paper (Re-LinerTM) applications in the packaging supply chain
Release liners are used as a protective cover tape for peel and seal envelopes, bags and boxes, particularly in the e-commerce sector. Companies running multi-point gluing systems will be applying the release liner as a cover tape onto the adhesive being applied.
Corrugated boards and packaging are integrated with release papers to prevent sticky adhesive products from adhering to them in transit.
Sustainability
Sustainability – particularly regulatory and public concerns around single-use packaging waste – is combining with other powerful trends to drive major changes in consumer packaging. Regulators are moving on the issue, and Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) companies and retailers are proactively making bold commitments to improve both the sustainability of their packaging and to fundamentally rethink their packaging systems.
Packaging converters with the right focus and innovation capabilities, could benefit from significant growth and new partnership opportunities to support customers in revising their packaging portfolios.
Going forward, converters will have to proactively embrace sustainability issues as consumer demands and regulatory requirements multiply.
If you are a packaging manufacturer that uses silicone release papers as a cover tape on your multi-point gluing systems, then Re-LinerTM can assist you in decarbonising your products and fulfilling your journey toward net zero.
