Setting the standards in Circular Economy for others to follow
We envision an economy where both resources and energy are used efficiently, waste is minimized, and the value of products and resources is maximized throughout their lifecycle. The circular economy aims to design out waste, keep products and materials in use for as long as possible, and regenerate natural systems.
Our Journey:
“My goal has always been to create a circular economy model that others will follow in our fight against climate change and our race toward net zero”.
Mark Thompson
Founded in 2009 by Mark Thompson and Roger Banks, Techlan was set up to solve the problem of waste silicone release papers generated from manufacturing processes. Their objective was to convert this waste into a high quality, 100% recycled release paper, that could be reused once again to create more sustainable products.
Where it began:
Keeping materials in circulation was, and still is, the driving force behind Techlan. Stopping unnecessary discarding of waste release liners to landfill and single use consumption became Mark Thompson's passion.

The origin of our name
A name is important. At Techlan we are very proud of our Welsh heritage, so when the company was created we were sure to include a combination of the Welsh language together with aspects of the clean technology that we were developing:
Technoleg – Is Welsh for technology
Glan – Is Welsh for clean
